One of the 10 VIP Ticket winners for the Rockness Festival.
There were numerous entrants for the VIP Rockness tickects . Lots of the ticket winners didnt want to be interviewed or send pictures of the great weeekend. Luckily one lucky winner was happy to send us some photos and write a brief description of the weekend.
Brief summary of the highlights of Rockness :
Rockness 2008 with fantastic weather of clear blue skies and 22 degrees, many people were sporting the sun burnt look after a few hours. But hey, if you become separated from your mates, it is a lot easier to find if they, when they’re glowing bright red with sunburn.
The sunshine was an amazing bonus, the VIP area was amazing simply because of the VIP toilets and have a seat on the luxurious plastic patio furniture. And I spied Giles Peterson at the bar too, well I think it was him. If it wasn’t, then I told some random bloke at the bar that I thought his DJing set was ace. good
For a festival the food was impressive, with organic sausages and venison burgers on offer. But we tried out best to sample as the booze on offer – and cold cider and beers was perfect.
The best act for us was ’2 many DJs’ who weren’t on the main stage but they were fantastic. Mixing in quality 70s cheesey tunes with Wiley ‘wearing my rolex.’ Calvin Harris was an excellent warm up act for Fat Boy Slim who closed the Saturday night. Fat Boy Slim had 30,000 people bouncing away at 11pm in a field in Loch Ness and everyone loved every second of it. I was watching it from the top of the hill, and it was just a sea of happy smiley people bouncing around shouting at the top of their lungs ‘Right here, right now!’
Campsite was dry but hilley. At our campsite we be-friended 3 middle aged women who had abondoned their families for the weekend to rave it up at Rockness and the very kind ladies shared with us their home made vodka jelly.
So all that remains to say is a big thank you to the middle aged female ravers, and thank you to boredofthehighstreet.com for getting us there.
